My wife’s non-profit organization needed to relocate to another ISP, hostgator. Along the way I discovered that the version of jpegtran they installed didn’t have the “-crop” option, which was required by Gallery2 to create thumbnails. Although they don’t include or support Gallery2 or jpegtran, here’s the fix:
- Go to http://sylvana.net/jpegcrop/jpegtran/
- download http://sylvana.net/jpegcrop/jpegcrop.tar.gz
- copy jpegtran into your ~/bin directory
- configure Gallery2’s Jpegtran “Graphics Toolkits” to specify your new jpegtran

Configure Jpegtran for Gallery2
